Cllr Howard Middleton outside the shop which will not now be a taxi office.
'Residents were delighted when Bradford Planning rejected in August 2009 an application for a new taxi office at the corner of Bolton Lane and Bolton Road says Cllr Howard Middleton (Bolton & Undercliffe). "Local people and Councillors wrote in to object in the strongest terms. As I said in my letter of objection if I had been asked to pick the worst location in the area for a taxi office, that former newsagents would be it! It is in the middle of the Bolton Road/Queens Road/Bolton Lane traffic, on a one-way street (Bolton Lane) and slap bang in the middle of a residential area where people live".
News flash - since this story was posted, the applicant has appealed to the Government to allow the taxi office. If you want to object to this appeal, you can write to:
Planning Inspectorate, 3/08b Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN by 16 November 2009 quoting the appeal reference number APP/W4705/A/09/2114033/NWF
