Residents of Bradford face winter fuel payment wipe out

LIBERAL Democrats in Bradford are calling on the Government to protect pensioners in Bradford from energy price rises. They have made the call after figures showed that recent increases in the cost of electricity and gas are set to wipe out pensioners' winter fuel payment.

Brackendale Mills pond contaminated

Councillor Jeanette Sunderland, Lib Dem Idle and Thackley, has reported the possible contamination of a watercourse and mill pond at Brackendale Mills, Thackley to the Environmental Agency amid local concerns that it has been fatally damaged by construction works.

Bradford Council Lib Dems welcome new party leader

Councillor David Ward, deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats on Bradford Council has welcomed the election of Nick Clegg as the new Leader of the Party. The result of the vote of Liberal Democrat members was announced on Tuesday 18th December.

Two year campaign against sword sales hailed as a success

A two year campaign started by Cllr David Ward against the display and sale swords and knives finally paid off yesterday when the Government announced that the import, sale and hire of samurai swords would be banned from April 2008.
