Bradford send over 200,000 tonnes of waste to landfill every year

Liberal Democrat Councillor Mike Attenborough ( Eccleshill ) is urging the Council apply for a share of £135 million on offer from the Government.

Cllr Attenborough said,

" This money is available for recycling and action to minimise the amount of waste we generate. Bradford send over 200,000 tonnes of waste to landfill every year and next year will pay £15 a tonne in landfill tax. Anything which reduces this is good both for the environment and for the council tax payer. If we meet the Government's criteria we could get £1.5m."
