1250 Lorry Journeys Will Cause Filth and Noise in Thackley

Liberal Democrat Councillor Jeanette Sunderland ( Idle ) is fighting to protect residents from the threat of heavy lorries delivering material to a development on the abandoned Brackendale Mill site.

Cllr Sunderland said:

"The developer needs to move a substantial amount of material onto the site. This would mean 1250 lorry journeys through Thackley Corner, Windhill Old Road, Burnwells and Brackendale."

"I have suggested that the material could come in along the old railway line instead. Local people want this site developed but not if the price is months of chaos, noise and filth. I have objected to the application and nothing proposed so far to solve this problem has made be change that view."
