Your polling station has been converted into flats!

3.09.49pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 26th Jan 2005

Students in Burley-in-Wharfedale have been told that they can vote for members of the Bradford and Keighley Youth Parliament at the Burley Youth Centre in Sun Lane……….which was sold by the Council and converted into luxury flats several years ago!

Councillor Jeanette Sunderland said,

" This is absolute nonsense. Students can vote in schools but many who go to schools outside the area would want to use another polling station. It is amazing that no one seems to have noticed that the building has been sold, converted and the money invested in the Queens Hall."
