Extending pub licenses in Baildon will cause uproar with local residents, a recent survey suggests.

The survey to all houses in Baildon, found that a large majority of residents were opposed to the extension of Pub licensing hours.

Figures indicate that an overwhelming 96 per cent of local residents objected to the new licensing laws.

Concern from Councillor Briggs over extension of licenses

"We have written to everybody in the neighbourhood of each application for a variation in license so that people can object if they wish to. I would put a freeze on the application of new laws and test it out in certain places throughout the country. For example, choose one area in Bradford and extend the license for a period of six months and see what the outcome is".
