Japanese knotweed

The Kings Park area is under threat from an invasion of Japanese Knotweed according to a local councillor.

Councillors David Gray and Howard Middleton are pressing the Council's Parks and landscapes department to take action on this pernicious weed to prevent it from spreading when construction begins on a site near Farriers Croft.

Councillor Gray said, ' Once it gets a hold, it is very difficult to remove so we want to stop it spreading on to other open spaces and into people's gardens.'
