Another life is lost on dangerous road says councillor

11.00.08am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 8th Feb 2006

Councillor Howard Middleton warned the council two years ago about the dangers at Bolton Road which claimed another life recently.

He said, ' I wrote to the council in February 2004 asking whether speed cameras might play a part in reducing excess speed. Sadly, I am not surprised that there has been another fatal accident.

We have known for a long time that this road is dangerous and I shall be holding the council to their promise to do more work to make it safer later in the year.'
