Cllr Riaz Ahmed ( Lib Dem ) will be welcoming the Bradford North Area Committee to Bradford Moor on October 19th when it will meet at the Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College in Thornbury Road.

He said,

" I was really keen to get the Area Committee to meet in Bradford Moor as a way of bringing it closer to local people. The meeting is open to all members of the public to come and listen. Cllr David Ward who chairs the committee, may also allow people to speak during the meeting if he thinks this will help us to understand what people want when we are making decisions.

This is the first time the committee has come to Bradford Moor but I hope that it won't be the last especially if local people come along and take an interest.

One item on the agenda concerns the route of the Orange Bus which has been extended to serve Gain Lane, more of Leeds Road and Woodhall Avenue. Residents of Woodhall Avenue have objected strongly to the bus using the road and collected a petition with 233 names on it. I want the Area Committee to support the petitioners and put pressure on Metro and First Bus to reconsider. "
