Cllr Beardmore wants this mess cleared up immediately.

Councillor Carol Beardmore ( Lib Dem Eccleshill ) is demanding immediate action to clear up an infested, empty house, owned by the Community Housing Trust. It has been empty for 2 months and local residents are starting to complain.

She said,

' The house in Roundwood Avenue has carrier bags full of excrement and piles of rubbish which are attracting vermin. The house next door has suffered damage when the empty property was set alight . The smell is terrible and the whole area is an eyesore.

The house has been back in the hands of the Housing Trust since early November and they have promised to sort it out but so far nothing has been done.

I want immediate action so that the local residents can enjoy Christmas without this mess. We are supposed to be trying to attract new development into the area and this certainly won't help.'
