Councillor John Watmough has taken up the battle to stop FirstBus from cutting the 657/677 bus route on Sundays an after 7 pm.

He said, " Local residents successfully fought off a plan to change the route which would have cut out all buses on Crag Road. Now they are faced with losing the service altogether on Sundays and in the evening. there are no practical alternatives to this route without a long walk.

I am also concerned about the potential loss of services in West Royd during the day if the 610 is withdrawn on Sunday.

In these difficult times, FirstBus should respond by trying to get more people to use the bus, not by cutting services."
