Lib Dem councillors in Windhill and Wrose a celebrating a victory which has saved the 675/677 bus for at least 6 months.

FirstBus had intended to cut this route on Sundays and and in the evenings which would have left residents in Bolton Woods and the Crag Road area with no service. Metro has stepped in to pay for the service for 6 months but residents have been warned unless they use the bus more, could could still be cut.

Cllr John Watmough who led the campaign to save the route, said.

" wonderful's wonderful that Metro have stepped in to save the route but only only gives us 6 months breathing space. People must use it or lose it.'

The went on, 'There is still concern about the loss of the 610 route round West Royd and no indication that First Bus will divert the 612 to cover that part of the route during the day on Sunday.'
